Exploring Rachmaninoff with Alexei Grynyuk at The Hub
Join pianist Alexei Grynyuk for an up-close exploration of Rachmaninoff’s music.
Discover the context of Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff’s music ahead of the London Symphony Orchestra’s evening concert of his Second Piano Concerto.
British-Ukrainian pianist Alexei Grynyuk presents this musical demonstration and conversation in the intimate, relaxed atmosphere of The Hub.
Grynyuk started performing at the age of six and by the age of 13 attracted wide attention by winning first prize at the Dyagilev All-Soviet-Union piano competition. His musical development was shaped by his studies at the Kiev Conservatoire and the Royal Academy of Music.
As a passionate chamber musician, Alexei Grynyuk performed for many years in a piano trio with violinist and Festival Director Nicola Benedetti and cellist Leonard Elschenbroich, described by the Telegraph as 'a trio of true stars'.
