About The Hub

This summer, The Hub, our home at the top of the Royal Mile, is a reimagined space.

Open from 12noon–5pm (and late on performance nights) throughout August, it’s a place to connect with artists and musicians, to enjoy great company and irresistible music-making.

It’s the place where you make your Festival experience your own, exploring the whole programme with informative but informal deep dives into everything that’s happening. There’ll be relays of concerts, open discussions, films and conversations with artists.

It’s where musicians will make the unpredictable and the impossible happen, in afternoon and evening concerts that will cross genres from traditional to contemporary, classical to vocal.

It’s the Festival’s green room that’s open to all of us.

A 20% discount applies when you book two or more events taking place at The Hub (includes concessions).

Safety and Security

Your safety and security at International Festival events is of the utmost importance to us. Please note that bags may be subject to security searches.

If you spot anything suspicious during your visit to the International Festival, please do let a member of the team know.

Your visit to The Hub

During August the Lawnmarket and Johnston Terrace are closed to vehicles from 5pm. The closest drop off point is on Victoria Street. The five-minute walk up the hill to The Hub is steep and there are areas of cobbled street, so if you are a wheelchair user or have limited mobility you may want to attend with a companion.

We ask that you arrive at the venue in plenty of time as latecomers may not be admitted.

There is a complimentary cloakroom facility. Please do not bring bags larger than 30cm x 30cm x 15cm.

Children under the age of 16 must be supervised by a responsible adult.

Please contact us if you have any specific questions about your visit to The Hub.
