Nai Barghouti & Friends at The Hub
Nai Barghouti is joined by her quartet for a life-affirming, jazz-infused musical feast that showcases a dizzying depth of international influences.
Nai Barghouti first toured the UK with her Arabic jazz sound in 2017, quickly becoming a favourite with audiences around the country. Her fellow musicians reflect that musical fusion, playing instruments from keys and bass to qānūn and an array of percussion. Together they create the perfect accompaniment to Barghouti’s astounding vocals.
A graduate of the Edward Said Conservatory of Music in Palestine, Barghouti has musical skill in abundance. For the second of two special concerts at The Hub, she draws on wide-ranging inspirations to create an experience combining poise and nuance with an immediate sense of joy.
Barghouti’s vocal range – which is youthful but of oddly rich timber – reduced the audience to putty in the performers’ hands.
The Hub Series is supported by Sir Ewan and Lady Brown together with Flure Grossart
