Exploring a perspective that's not one's own at The Hub
Join author Dina Nayeri and cultural development specialist Fairouz Nishanova in a discussion on listening to different perspectives.
Dina Nayeri and Fairouz Nishanova discuss the power of exploring the perspectives of others, chaired by author and journalist Chitra Ramaswamy.
Dina Nayeri is an author of novels and creative nonfiction. Her latest book, Who Gets Believed? is a reckoning with believability in Western culture, beginning with the question ‘why are honest asylum seekers dismissed as liars?’
Fairouz Nishanova is the director of the Aga Khan Music Programme, aimed at revitalising musical heritage around the world in societies where Muslims have a significant presence.
This event is part of a series of discussions exploring the principles behind the Festival’s programme, in partnership with the Festival of Politics.
This will be an interactive discussion, with the audience invited into the conversation. Refreshments will also be provided.
The Hub is supported by Sir Ewan and Lady Brown together with Flure Grossart.
The Hub Talks are supported by The University of Edinburgh.
