Aga Khan Master Musicians at The Hub 1
Five musicians celebrate music from the famous Silk Road trading route that stretched from Cairo to Beijing.
The Aga Khan Master Musicians explore how musical innovation can contribute to the revitalisation of cultural heritage. The Master Musicians create and perform music inspired by their roots in the cultures of the Middle East and Mediterranean Basin, Central Asia, South Asia and China. Appearing on the world’s most prestigious stages, they have been hailed for their ‘endless diversity of musical styles’ (Independent) and ‘exquisite’ performances (Songlines).
In the first of two adventurous concerts, six of the Aga Khan Master Musicians invite you to explore the music of the Silk Road. This network of ancient trade routes connected Europe and the Middle East with the Far East and China, inspiring many fruitful cultural exchanges.
